Isn’t it just the greatest when all the bands you love decide to release new music at the same time? It really makes for some damn fine playlists. Lately, I’ve danced and sung along for many fun-filled hours to these tunes.
‘Black Butterflies & Deja Vu’ & ‘Bad Behavior’ – The Maine
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, The Maine are one of the most talented, underrated and inimitable bands out there, and they are about to drop their best album yet on April 7th.
So far Lovely, Little, Lonely is unlike anything the band has done before. Though it has the same level of maturity of their most recent album, American Candy, LLL is already far more trippy and enthralling than AC. It’s basically AC on acid!
I adore these two songs. They are definitely some of the band’s best work—and this is coming from the girl who thinks Can’t Stop Won’t Stop is timeless. So you know it’s good!
‘Cotton Candy’ – The Ready Set X Call Me Karizma
I love The Ready Set, always have, and always will. It’s strange because his style of indie-electro-pop isn’t something I usually listen to, but there is just something about Jordan Witzigreuter that has had me hooked and listening to him since his I’m Alive, I’m Dreaming days. His new track ‘Cotton Candy’ with Call Me Karizma is one of the catchiest songs I have ever heard. Its bubblegum-pop spirit is my feel-good song at the moment.
‘Fake I.D’ – Joyce Manor
Speaking of catchy tunes, Joyce Manor’s ‘Fake I.D’ is one I have been listening to on repeat lately. “What do you think about Kanye West? I think that he’s great, I think he’s the best…”
It’s weird, it’s catchy, it’s cool, it’s Joyce Manor all over. ‘Fake I.D’ is an absolute banger!
‘Dirty Laundry’ – All Time Low
When All Time Low announced they were releasing a new song, I expected it to be the typical ATL pop-punk track. I was pleasantly surprised by the moody, muted ‘Dirty Laundry’. The song might have already made my list of favourite All Time Low songs! I’m excited to hear their new album Last Young Renegade.
