4 Beauty Products That Are Hyped AF, But Are Actually Great!

YSL beauty

Nowadays every expensive beauty product is hyped. “It conceals all flaws… it mattifies skin… it lasts all day!” – We hear this junk on a daily basis regarding all makeup products and well, most of the time, about 97% of the time, it’s not true. They don’t even blend, let alone cover your acne scars and brighten your dark under-eye bags from years of staying up until 4 am.

But sometimes beauty products come around that actually work! A beauty product that actually does what it says on the box?! What a concept!

I decided to honour these wonder products and shout-out my 4 favourite beauty items that are hyped af, but are actually great!

1. Kat Von D Ink liner Eyeliner – Now, I’m going to get a lot of shit for this because I continue to have the ink vs tattoo liner argument with everyone. Ink, for me, is better! (I have friends that swear by Tattoo liner, so I would suggest trying both!) The liner’s application is so easy, the colour is dark, and the liner lasts all day! I have used many pen liners in the past, but Kat Von D’s ink liner is the easiest one I have owned. The application is so simple and smooth. If you struggle to apply eyeliner, and you want something dark that doesn’t go streaky when you apply it, then invest in Kat Von D’s Ink Liner because it is worth every penny!

2. Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder – Powder is incredibly important—especially if you have a greasy face like me! And Laura Mercier’s translucent setting powder is one you can trust to keep your shine at bay for most, if not all, of the day.

3. Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade – I have used many eyebrow products in the past, and nothing works as well as ABH’s long-lasting pomade. Granted, it’s a little difficult to apply at first, but once you get the hang of it, it is an extremely smooth and quick process. I recommend ABH’s dual-ended brow brush too because it’s angled, small enough for great detail, and has a spoolie on the end, which is always convenient.

4. Fenty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer – ok, so since it’s not 2008, not many people are into lipgloss, I, however, always am. Lipgloss is the most convenient form of lip product: it’s lightweight, easy to apply, it doesn’t crack, and it looks so unbelievably 90s! And I know most lipglosses have that gross sticky feel, and fade quicker than they are applied, but not Fenty Bomb! The colour is subtle, the gloss is super pretty, and best of all, it’s moisturising and doesn’t get stuck to literally everything!
